About Lee Ann Roberts

Lee Ann Roberts is a South African techno artist celebrated for infusing her music with a vibrant blend of intensity, playfulness, and soulful nuance. She first gained attention in 2010 through a residency on Cape Town’s Mutha FM, where she specialized in minimal and melodic techno. At the same time, Roberts balanced a global modeling career, which exposed her to diverse cultures and deepened her passion for vinyl collecting. Influenced by electronic music pioneers such as Richie Hawtin, Magda, and Jeff Mills, she developed a distinctive sound that resonates through her compelling productions.

Roberts’ breakthrough came in 2020 with her debut single "Miyamoto," released on the Spanish label Suara. The track quickly climbed to No. 2 on Beatport’s Hard Techno Chart, marking her emergence on the international stage. Following this, she released music on respected labels including Octopus, Blackworks, and Gomboc Records. In 2021, Lee Ann Roberts took a significant step by launching her own imprint, NowNow Records, starting with the single "I Want You," which allowed her to further shape her evolving artistic vision.

As a dynamic performer, Roberts has played at major festivals and clubs worldwide, including Timewarp, Awakenings, BPM Festival, DGTL, Fabric London, and Space Miami, sharing stages with iconic figures like Jeff Mills. Her continued touring schedule spans key global markets such as Asia and India, with notable upcoming dates at the VW Arena in Istanbul and Mixmag at ADE. Through steady artistic growth and dynamic live shows, Lee Ann Roberts remains a compelling force in contemporary techno.
