About Tyler, the Creator

Tyler, the Creator, born Tyler Okonma in Los Angeles County, stands as one of hip-hop’s most innovative and influential voices. Rising to prominence in the late 2000s as a founding member of the alternative rap collective Odd Future, Tyler helped shape a new wave of boundary-pushing music with raw, provocative content that gradually broke into the mainstream. Early on, he contributed significantly as a producer and collaborator, notably on Earl Sweatshirt’s acclaimed *Earl* mixtape (2010) and Frank Ocean’s Grammy-winning *Channel Orange* (2012).

Tyler’s solo catalog charts a remarkable artistic evolution. His debut, *Goblin* (2011), introduced audiences to his abrasive, confrontational style, debuting at number five on the Billboard 200. He continued this momentum with *Wolf* (2013) and *Cherry Bomb* (2015), albums that combined his fierce lyrical presence with collaborations from heavyweights like Pharrell, Erykah Badu, Kanye West, and Lil Wayne. The creative breakthrough came with *Flower Boy* (2017), a more introspective and polished work that reached number two on Billboard and earned a Grammy nomination.

Further expanding his sonic landscape, Tyler released *IGOR* (2019), a genre-blending, emotionally raw project that topped the charts and secured a Best Rap Album Grammy nod. With *CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST* (2021), he pushed his artistry even further, infusing hip-hop with synth-pop and reggae influences, resulting in his first Grammy win in the same category.
