About Pirate Copy

Manchester-based producer Pirate Copy, born Lee Spence, has spent over fifteen years shaping a distinctive presence in the tech house scene. Renowned for his hands-on, DIY approach, Pirate Copy crafts raw, inventive tracks that blend precision with an organic, approachable vibe. His meticulous attention to detail—carefully constructing every melody, bassline, and beat—has earned him a loyal following among techno and bass enthusiasts worldwide.

Pirate Copy’s signature sound has attracted support from leading figures such as Patrick Topping, Richy Ahmed, Eats Everything, Solardo, Matthias Tanzmann, and Pete Tong. His dynamic live performances have graced some of the world’s most iconic venues and festivals, including Fabric, Parklife Festival, The Warehouse Project, We Are FSTVL, Elrow Barcelona, Warung Beach Club, and BPM Festival. Internationally, he has made notable appearances in Ibiza, Uruguay, and delivered a remarkable back-to-back set with Waff and Richy Ahmed in Córdoba, Argentina.

Throughout his career, Pirate Copy has released music on respected labels like Elrow and Material, but it is his collaboration with Kaluki Music that has notably boosted his profile. With multiple top ten hits on Beatport’s Tech House chart, Pirate Copy continues to push the boundaries of the genre, securing his place as a modern innovator in the global dance music community.
