Ojete Calor is a dynamic Spanish musical project that emerged in 2006, founded by Carlos Areces, a Madrid-born actor and comics artist known for his multifaceted presence in the Spanish entertainment world. Conceived as a rebellious answer to the music scene’s fixation on obscure folk revivals, Ojete Calor boldly embraced a style they defined as “Subnopop”—a vibrant, playful genre designed to deliver irresistibly catchy hooks and “sulfuric choruses” that ignite dancefloors and captivate audiences.

Blending humor, satire, and upbeat energy, Ojete Calor crafts songs that challenge traditional industry norms by prioritizing immediate appeal without sacrificing artistic wit. Their work is rooted between Madrid and Villanueva de la Jara, producing a series of direct, energetic hits that celebrate pop culture’s quirks through infectious melodies and danceable rhythms.
