About Alex Neri

Alex Neri’s musical journey began in the vibrant club scene of Tuscany during the 1990s, where he quickly gained recognition as a talented DJ amid the rise of new wave, electro-funk, garage, and house music. His early success propelled him onto international stages, establishing him as a sought-after figure in the global electronic music circuit. Alongside Marco Baroni, Neri co-founded the production duo Kamasutra, releasing influential tracks that resonated widely on dance floors around the world.

In 1999, Neri played a crucial role in forming Planet Funk, a project that skyrocketed to international acclaim with the hit single "Chase the Sun." This track topped charts globally and was followed by a series of critically praised albums and singles that showcased the group’s innovative blend of electronic and dance music.

Beyond his work as a performer and producer, Alex Neri helped launch Tenax Recordings, the label affiliated with Florence's iconic Tenax Club. Their inaugural release, "Houstrack" (2004), earned the SIAE prize for the best-selling independent label album, solidifying the label’s reputation. Tenax Recordings has since supported rising talents like Federico Grazzini and Ilario Alicante.

Throughout his enduring career, Alex Neri remains deeply connected to the club realm, delivering forward-thinking DJ sets that fuse experimental sounds with contemporary house beats. His passion for dancefloor energy and innovative creativity continues to define his lasting influence on electronic music.
