About Requin Chagrin

Requin Chagrin is a French pop band that emerged from Paris in 2015, quickly establishing themselves within the vibrant indie music scene. Known for their evocative blend of melancholic yet catchy melodies, their sound fuses dreamy synth layers with introspective and poetic lyrics. The band’s name, translating to “Sad Shark,” perfectly reflects the bittersweet, nostalgic atmosphere that permeates their music. Drawing from the rich tradition of French pop while embracing contemporary indie and electronic influences, Requin Chagrin crafts an immersive sonic experience defined by ethereal vocal harmonies and textured instrumentation.

Their work delves into themes of youthful angst, nostalgia, longing, and urban solitude, resonating deeply with listeners who seek emotional depth and artistic authenticity. Over time, Requin Chagrin has gained critical acclaim and a devoted fanbase through a series of thoughtful releases and compelling live performances. Each album and single showcases their evolving sound while maintaining the poetic sensibility at the heart of their artistry.

By bridging classic French pop sensibilities with modern production, Requin Chagrin has become a significant force in contemporary French music. Their contributions have helped fuel a renewed appreciation for sophisticated, atmospheric pop, solidifying their place as influential voices in the current indie landscape.
