About Lifehouse

Lifehouse is a prominent American alternative rock band formed in 1995, originally under the name Blyss. Fronted by singer-songwriter Jason Wade, who grew up in various locations before settling in Los Angeles with his mother, the band’s origins trace back to Wade’s early songwriting collaborations with his childhood neighbor and bassist Sergio Andrade. Their initial sound was forged through garage rehearsals and self-released projects like the album "Diff's Lucky Band," alongside performances at church venues. Although rooted in these humble beginnings, Lifehouse eventually embraced mainstream alternative rock, signing with DreamWorks Records and solidifying their lineup with drummer Jon Palmer.

The band skyrocketed to fame with their 2000 debut album "No Name Face," propelled by the double-platinum hit "Hanging by a Moment," which became one of the most-played radio tracks of 2001. Despite a less favorable reception for their follow-up "Stanley Climbfall" (2002), Lifehouse underwent lineup changes and experienced a resurgence with their self-titled album "Lifehouse" (2005). This era featured new members — percussionist Rick Woolstenhulme Jr. and bassist Bryce Soderberg — and produced hits like "First Time" and "You and Me," further solidified by the gold-certified album "Who We Are" (2007).

Lifehouse continued to evolve with albums like "Smoke & Mirrors" (2010), which included a collaboration with Kevin Rudolf, and "Almeria" (2012), featuring a duet with Natasha Bedingfield titled "Between the Raindrops." After a brief hiatus, they returned with "Out of the Wasteland" (2015), which topped the Top Independent Albums chart. The band’s enduring influence was celebrated with a "Greatest Hits" compilation in 2017, followed by a successful tour alongside Switchfoot, cementing their lasting legacy in alternative rock.
