Scowl is a hardcore band hailing from Santa Cruz, California, known for their fierce, venomous sound and commanding stage presence. Over the past five years, they have become a formidable force within the hardcore scene, captivating audiences with their brutal sonic assault and electrifying live shows. Sharing stages with iconic acts like Circle Jerks, Touché Amoré, and Limp Bizkit, Scowl has also performed at major festivals such as Coachella, Sick New World, and Reading and Leeds, solidifying their reputation as a dynamic live act.

Their 2023 album, *Are We All Angels*, showcases the band’s artistic growth while preserving the raw intensity that defines their music. The title track engages listeners with philosophical reflections on the personal struggle between good and evil, deliberately forgoing punctuation to encourage open interpretation. Vocalist Moss explains that the album explores how societal systems attempt to reshape individual narratives, regardless of one’s true actions. Despite experimenting with a more eclectic sound on this record, Scowl remains deeply rooted in punk and hardcore traditions. Guitarist Malachi Greene highlights that the band’s identity and community spirit continue to drive both their creative process and their passionate live performances, ensuring their authentic hardcore ethos endures as they evolve.
