About Alien Ant Farm

Alien Ant Farm, a Riverside, California-based band formed in 1996, quickly distinguished themselves with a dynamic fusion of nu-metal, post-grunge, and punk-pop. The original lineup—vocalist Dryden Mitchell, guitarist Terry Corso, bassist Tye Zamora, and drummer Mike Cosgrove—converted their passion for music into a compelling alternative rock sound that would soon earn them widespread recognition.

Their major breakthrough arrived in 2001 with a bold, metallic cover of Michael Jackson’s "Smooth Criminal," which soared to the top of the Billboard Alternative Songs chart. Featured in the film *American Pie 2*, the single propelled their major-label debut *ANThology* (2001) to platinum status and secured their place in rock history. Prior to this, the band earned accolades at the 1999 L.A. Music Awards and signed with Papa Roach’s New Noize imprint under DreamWorks Records.

Despite thriving momentum, Alien Ant Farm faced significant hurdles—including a serious 2002 bus crash in Spain that left Mitchell with severe spinal injuries and upheaval caused by their label’s collapse during the release of *truANT* (2003). Lineup changes and extended breaks followed, but the band’s resilience shone through with albums like *Up in the Attic* (2006) and *Always and Forever* (2015).

Continuing to evolve while honoring their roots, Alien Ant Farm released *Mantras* in 2024. The album features a striking cover of Wham!’s "Everything She Wants" and showcases their enduring energy through electrifying live performances. With a career marked by perseverance and innovation, Alien Ant Farm remains a powerful force in the alternative metal and rock scenes.
