About Machinae Supremacy

Machinae Supremacy, formed in 2000 in Luleå, Sweden, stands as a pioneering force within the alternative metal genre, distinguished by their innovative fusion of heavy guitar riffs and chiptune sounds drawn from video games and anime. This unique blend, often dubbed "SID-metal" by fans, has earned them a devoted international following among metal enthusiasts and gamers alike.

From the outset, Machinae Supremacy embraced digital distribution, leveraging peer-to-peer networks to share their music and build a global fanbase without relying on traditional industry gatekeepers. Their early independent spirit led to the self-produced releases of *Deux Ex Machinae* (2004) and *Redeemer* (2006). These successes paved the way for a decade-long partnership with Spinefarm Records, during which they released five albums. Notably, their 2011 album *The Beat of Our Decay* received critical acclaim, with Metal Hammer UK recognizing it as one of the most intriguing metal releases of its time.

Beyond studio albums, Machinae Supremacy has expanded their creative horizons by composing soundtracks for video games such as *Jets’n’Guns* and *Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams*, collaborating with legendary composer Chris Hülsbeck. They have also performed alongside the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and contributed music to high-profile events like the Swedish IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships advertising campaigns. After their time with Spinefarm, the band returned to independent production with the 2017 release *Into the Night World*, continuing to push musical boundaries while remaining true to their innovative roots.
