About Branka

Branka, originally from Curitiba and now based in Rio de Janeiro, launched her music career at 21 when she signed with EMI Music (now Universal Music). Her debut album, *Faces e Fases* (2003), quickly established her as a promising talent, earning a Revelation nomination at the TIM Awards. Over a decade later, she made a decisive mark on the Brazilian music scene with *Barra da Saia* (2013), a vibrant samba album featuring the legendary Zeca Pagodinho. This release boosted her profile further, receiving a Latin Grammy nomination and having its title track honored at the Multishow Awards for Best Samba.

Branka’s artistic journey under Universal Music Brasil expanded with the *Trilogia Flores Douradas*, a richly textured collection blending classic samba with other Brazilian rhythms. The trilogy features original compositions by renowned songwriters such as Nei Lopes, Moacyr Luz, Toninho Geraes, and Aluisio Machado. Notable collaborations include Xande de Pilares on the emotionally resonant “Amor e Luta” and the samba-infused “Banho de Mar,” co-created with Carlinhos 7 Cordas and Arlindo Cruz.

Her subsequent album, *Trilha Sonora*, continued this trajectory, incorporating fresh material from celebrated composers like Sombrinha, Zélia Duncan, Moacyr Luz, and Arlindo Cruz. Recently, Branka released the single "O Barquinho," a heartfelt tribute to Tom Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes, further cementing her reputation for honoring Brazil’s musical heritage through authentic and compelling performances.
