About Maskatesta

Maskatesta, an independent ska band from Mexico City, has established itself as a cornerstone of the Mexican ska scene over more than two decades. Since their formation, the group has remained committed to independence, demonstrating how passion and perseverance can turn creative vision into lasting success. Throughout their prolific career, Maskatesta has released ten studio albums, including notable works such as "The Maskatonians All Stars and Friends" (2006), "Que Quieres Que Te Diga" (2008), "This Is Ska" (2010), and "Mi Vida en Otro Lado" (2013). Their innovative spirit also led them to produce "Maskatesta with Big Band Orchestra" (2011), a live orchestral album showcasing their versatility, as well as a vinyl EP titled "Mi Habitación Está Vacía Esta Noche" (2012).

Further expanding their discography, Maskatesta released the compilation "Eight Years of Ska" (2012), which reached international audiences through digital platforms like iTunes in the United States. Subsequent albums such as "Sound System" (2017), "Reescrito" (2021), and "Entre Marzo y Abril" (2022) reaffirmed their evolving sound and sustained relevance. The band’s influence extends beyond their own records; they contributed to prominent international compilations, including the Sony Music tribute album "Carnaval Toda la Vida," honoring iconic Latin American band Los Fabulosos Cadillacs. Through relentless dedication and artistic innovation, Maskatesta continues to be a vital force within the global ska community.
