About Igorrr

Igorrr is the artistic alias of French multi-instrumentalist and electronic producer Gautier Serre, born in June 1984. He has gained acclaim for forging an extraordinary blend of extreme metal, breakcore, baroque classical influences, operatic vocals, and eclectic acoustic instrumentation. Emerging from his earlier electronic grindcore project Whourkr, Igorrr first captured underground attention with his self-released demos *Poisson Soluble* (2006) and *Moisissure* (2008). These works featured meticulous drum programming intertwined with live elements, earning him a deal with Berlin’s experimental label Ad Noiseam.

In 2010, Igorrr released his official debut album, *Nostril*, alongside the *Baroquecore* EP, which cemented his reputation for chaotic breakbeats, metal riffs, and gypsy violin melodies. His innovative fusion quickly garnered critical praise in French media, including *Les Inrockuptibles* and *Trax*, while receiving support from commercial radio. His sophomore effort, *Hallelujah* (2012), expanded his apocalyptic sonic universe, featuring collaborations with artists like baroque vocalist Laure Le Prunenec and Mayhem guitarist Teloch.

Following notable collaborations with ragga junglist Bong-Ra and experimental producer Ruby My Dear, Igorrr signed with Metal Blade Records. This partnership led to the 2017 release of *Savage Sinusoid*, a groundbreaking album distinguished by its sample-free production and guest spots from members of Cattle Decapitation and Secret Chiefs 3. Continuing to push the boundaries of avant-garde music, Igorrr unveiled *Spirituality and Distortion* (2020), an intense and genre-defying work that solidified his status as a unique and visionary force in contemporary experimental metal.
