About Fangoria

Fangoria is a trailblazing Spanish electro-pop duo formed in 1989 by vocalist Olvido "Alaska" Gara and multi-instrumentalist Nacho Canut. Emerging from the influential band Alaska y Dinarama during the vibrant La Movida Madrileña cultural movement, Fangoria marked a decisive shift from new wave rock to a sleek, synth-driven electronic sound. Their name, inspired by the American horror magazine, symbolized this fresh artistic direction.

The duo made an immediate impact with their debut album, "Salto Mortal" (1990), featuring the standout single "Hagamos Algo Superficial y Vulgar." Fangoria’s creative evolution was deeply shaped by their collaboration with renowned producer Carlos Jean, resulting in acclaimed albums such as "Una Temporada en el Infierno" (1999), "Naturaleza Muerta" (2001), "Arquitectura Efímera" (2004), and "El Extraño Viaje" (2006). These works expanded their reach beyond Spain into Western Europe and Latin America, solidifying their status as electro-pop icons.

Signing with Warner Music España, Fangoria achieved gold-certified success with "Absolutamente" (2009), which earned them the Spanish Music Award for Pop Album of the Year. Their 2016 release, "Canciones Para Robots Románticos," co-produced by La Casa Azul and Jon Klein, topped the Spanish charts and garnered international acclaim. With a rich legacy that includes classic tracks like "A Quién le Importa" and "Ni Tú Ni Nadie," Fangoria continues to captivate audiences, blending infectious melodies with electronic innovation and maintaining their position as enduring pioneers in Spanish pop music.
