About Lucy Kitchen

Lucy Kitchen is a British folk singer-songwriter hailing from Romsey, Hampshire, known for her ethereal voice and hauntingly beautiful songwriting. Seamlessly blending folk, Americana, and subtle country influences, her music evokes comparisons to iconic 1970s artists like Joni Mitchell, Sandy Denny, and Beth Orton. Lucy’s sound is distinguished by delicate, minimalistic arrangements that create atmospheric soundscapes, allowing her evocative vocals and poetic lyrics to shine.

Drawing inspiration from nature, lyrical poetry, and the changing seasons, her songs often explore profound themes such as grief, loss, and resilience. This emotional depth is poignantly reflected in her 2023 EP "The Stabal Sessions," a deeply personal work crafted in response to the loss of her husband the previous year. She has released two albums under her own Bohemia Rose Records label and contributed to notable compilations including "Folk Funk & Trippy Troubadours Vol. 2" and "Sounds of Southampton Vol. 3."

Beyond her folk roots, Lucy Kitchen has showcased her versatility through collaborations with electronic artists, earning recognition on BBC Radio 1, Radio X, Amazing Radio USA, and features in Mixmag. Her powerful yet fragile voice and atmospheric storytelling led her to the final of Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Competition, where she performed on the John Peel Stage. Her forthcoming album, "In the Low Light," is eagerly anticipated for release in February 2026, promising to further cement her place as a distinctive and captivating figure in contemporary folk music.
