About Harvey Rushmore & the Octopus

Harvey Rushmore & the Octopus is a dynamic quartet renowned for their distinctive blend of garage rock, surf, krautrock, and psychedelic sounds. The band features Jonathan Meyer on bass, Jakob Läser on drums, Massimo Tondini on guitar and vocals, and Stefan Cecere on keys, synths, and guitar. With over fifteen years of collective collaboration through various projects, they have honed a seamless chemistry that fuels their hypnotic sonic explorations.

Drawing heavily from the 1960s surf and psychedelic rock era while embracing influences from modern neo-psychedelic acts like The Black Angels, Wooden Shjips, and Moon Duo, Harvey Rushmore & the Octopus crafts music that balances pulsing motorik rhythms with reverb-drenched guitars and trance-like melodies. Their immersive soundscapes evoke the tense allure of a midnight voyage across turbulent seas, delivering an engaging auditory experience marked by both vintage ambiance and contemporary innovation.

Having performed more than 400 shows across Europe, the band is celebrated for their compelling live performances, which often incorporate mesmerizing drifting visuals to create a fully immersive audiovisual journey. Fans eagerly anticipate their fourth studio album, slated for release in early 2026, which promises to continue their evolution with hypnotic grooves and seductive melodies that invite listeners on a thrilling, psychedelic ride.

Harvey Rushmore & the Octopus stands as a vibrant force in the modern psychedelic and garage rock scene, known for their raw energy and adventurous sound that bridges past and present.
