About Deftones

Formed in Sacramento, California, in 1988, Deftones have become a pioneering force in alternative rock, blending atmospheric textures with aggressive energy to carve out a unique musical identity. Over their lasting career, this influential quintet has sold over 10 million records worldwide, earning critical and commercial success alike. Their breakthrough arrived with three platinum albums: the raw, intense debut "Adrenaline" (1995), the expansive and atmospheric "Around the Fur" (1997), and the genre-defining "White Pony" (2000), which garnered them a GRAMMY® Award in 2001.

Continuing to evolve, Deftones released the gold-certified self-titled album "Deftones" (2003), followed by strong entries like "Diamond Eyes" (2010) and "Koi No Yokan" (2012). Their 2016 album "Gore" marked their highest Billboard 200 chart position in over a decade, debuting at number two, underscoring their enduring relevance. Beyond studio recordings, the band expanded their cultural impact by launching the Dia De Los Deftones festival in 2018. These sold-out events highlighted their diverse influences, featuring artists from Future and CHVRCHES to Megan Thee Stallion and Gojira. In 2020, Deftones released their ninth studio album, "Ohms," alongside an ambitious full-album remix of "White Pony," cementing their status as visionary leaders within the alternative music scene.
