About Dave

Dave, born David Omoregie in 1998 in Brixton, South London, is a groundbreaking British rapper and storyteller renowned for his sharp social commentary and deeply personal lyricism. Raised in Streatham, he initially explored creative outlets such as animation and piano before fully embracing his talent as an MC by the age of ten. The long imprisonment of his older brothers heavily influenced his perspective, fueling the raw emotion and social awareness that underscore his music.

Dave first captured attention with his 2015 freestyles on platforms like Bl@ckbox and BBC Radio 1, but his big breakthrough came with the 2016 debut EP "Six Paths." The Canadian rapper Drake’s remix of Dave’s single "Wanna Know" broadened his international reach. He followed this with the 2017 EP "Game Over" and the 2018 chart-topping single "Funky Friday," featuring Fredo, which cemented his rising status in the UK rap scene.

His debut album, "Psychodrama" (2019), debuted at number one on the UK charts and received widespread critical acclaim for its introspective storytelling and social insight. Collaborations with notable artists such as Burna Boy, J Hus, and Ruelle enriched the project. Dave continued his success with "We’re All Alone in This Together" (2021), which also topped the charts and featured heavyweight guests including Stormzy, James Blake, and Wizkid.

Recent highlights include the singles "Starlight" (2022), "My 24th Birthday," and the 2023 chart-topping "Sprinter," a collaboration with Central Cee. Alongside work with artists like Oxlade, Tiakola, and Jack Harlow, Dave remains one of the most influential voices in contemporary British hip-hop, continually pushing the genre’s boundaries with his poignant narratives and versatile sound.
