About Los Vaguens

Los Vaguens, a dynamic rock band from the coastal city of Acapulco, Guerrero, have emerged as one of Mexico’s most influential contemporary groups. Their distinctive sound blends nostalgic, tropical, and modern rock elements, delivering a fresh take on ballad-infused rock that reflects their vibrant coastal roots. The band catapulted to national fame after winning the prestigious "Guerra de Bandas" competition, besting over 1,600 bands. This victory launched their career with a debut EP, "Santa Lucía" (year unspecified), and a landmark performance at Plaza Condesa in Mexico City—a crucial breakthrough in the country’s indie scene.

Building on this success, Los Vaguens released the EP "Bestiario de Santa Lucía" (2017), which fueled extensive touring throughout Guerrero and Mexico City, solidifying a loyal fanbase. After more than 50 live shows and several singles, they unveiled their full-length album "Hotel Acapulco" (2020). This record marked a turning point, cementing their reputation as Guerrero’s foremost rock band, especially during the challenging pandemic period. The band’s crossover appeal expanded significantly when tracks like "Monserrat," "Los Amantes," and "Acapulco" featured in popular Netflix, HBO, Apple TV, and Prime Video soundtracks around 2022.

In 2023, Los Vaguens continued innovating with the live session "Live From Aca Rey," recorded aboard a legendary yacht cruising Santa Lucía Bay—an immersive project showcasing their deep ties to Acapulco’s culture. Their national tour that year included headline spots at major festivals such as Caminante Fest and Beer Fest, culminating in sold-out shows at Foro Indie Rocks. By 2025, following the release of their sophomore album "Club de Oro," Los Vaguens stood not just as a band but as a cultural movement, channeling the spirit of Acapulco de Oro and bringing its essence to audiences across Mexico and beyond.
