About Hodge

Hodge, the Bristol-based producer Jake Martin, has emerged as a pivotal figure in the underground bass music scene by masterfully blending house, techno, and post-dubstep into richly rhythmic club tracks. Early in his career, he explored immersive deep house sounds through the duo Outboxx with Matthew Lambert, but his style took a darker, more experimental turn with the release of the *Dusted* EP (2012) on Deadplate Records. A significant influence in his sonic evolution has been Peverelist, founder of the Punch Drunk label, with whom Hodge collaborated on the transformative single "Bells" (2013). Over the years, he has solidified his reputation through releases on respected labels such as Livity Sound, Tempa, Hemlock, and Berceuse Heroique. His collaborative projects include the dynamic "Second Freeze" (2016) alongside Randomer, the *All My Love* EP (2017) with Peder Mannerfelt, and partnerships with Laurel Halo on *Tru* and *Beneath Two Moons*. Hodge’s debut album, *Shadows in Blue*, showcases his signature blend of commanding rhythms and deep, textured soundscapes, cementing his status as one of the most innovative voices in contemporary bass music. Through continuous boundary-pushing and a commitment to atmospheric depth, Hodge remains a driving force shaping the future of electronic underground sounds.
