About Peter Frampton

Peter Frampton, born April 22, 1950, in Beckenham, Kent, is a celebrated English rock guitarist, singer, and songwriter whose career spans over five decades. Beginning his musical journey as a child prodigy who picked up the guitar at age eight, Frampton first gained attention in the mid-1960s with mod-pop groups like the Little Ravens and the Preachers. His breakthrough came in 1966 when he joined The Herd, earning the moniker "Face of 1968" for his charisma and presence.

In 1969, Frampton co-founded the hard rock band Humble Pie alongside Steve Marriott, but departed in 1971 to pursue a solo career. His 1976 double live album "Frampton Comes Alive!" was a game-changer, turning tracks from earlier albums into electrifying performances that captured audiences worldwide. With hits like "Show Me the Way," "Baby, I Love Your Way," and "Do You Feel Like We Do," the album dominated charts for ten weeks and sold over 16 million copies, cementing Frampton's status as a rock icon. His innovative use of the talk-box guitar became his signature sound, dazzling arena crowds especially across the United States.

Despite setbacks—including a near-fatal car accident and challenges in the late 1970s—Frampton remained a resilient figure, collaborating with legends such as George Harrison, Ringo Starr, and David Bowie. His Grammy-winning instrumental album "Fingerprints" (2006) showcased his enduring musicianship. Even after his 2019 diagnosis with inclusion body myositis, Frampton continued performing, releasing albums like "Frampton Forgets the Words" (2021) and celebrating a triumphant return at London’s Royal Albert Hall in 2022, immortalized in the 2023 release "Peter Frampton at Royal Albert Hall."
