About BALTHVS

Originating from Bogotá, Colombia, BALTHVS is a groundbreaking psychedelic trio that has sparked a fresh wave of countercultural expression in a country traditionally resistant to such sounds. The band features Balthazar Aguirre on guitar, Johanna Mercuriana on bass, and Santiago Lizcano on drums. Together, they create hypnotic soundscapes that prioritize smooth, flowing grooves over intense or chaotic psychedelia.

BALTHVS’ music is a rich fusion of funk, disco, dream pop, vaporwave, soul, and R&B, deeply informed by global rhythms from Africa, Turkey, and South America. This eclectic blend gives their work a cosmic, immersive quality that invites listeners to unwind and explore diverse musical worlds. Rather than disrupting contemporary social tensions, their sound offers a peaceful, almost meditative escape through hypnotic, genre-defying grooves.

As pioneers in Colombia’s emerging psychedelic scene, BALTHVS stand out as both cultural ambassadors and musical innovators. Their unique approach transcends geographical and musical boundaries, affirming psychedelic music as a calming and unifying force. Through their captivating cosmic grooves, the trio continues to redefine what psychedelic music can be, carving out a distinct space in Latin America’s vibrant musical landscape.
