About Madd Rod

Lisbon-born Rodrigo Pinheiro, better known as Madd Rod, is a visionary DJ, producer, and founder of Inner Shah Recordings, celebrated for blending nostalgic electronic sounds with innovative, cutting-edge production. Launching his career early, Madd Rod made a strong impression with his debut album, "Dystopian Desert" (2020), which opened doors to noteworthy collaborations and remix projects. In 2021, he joined the European label Discotexas, further establishing his presence in the electronic music scene.

After relocating to Berlin in 2022, Madd Rod embraced a creative evolution, channeling a retrofuturistic and punk-infused aesthetic in his sophomore album, "Sad Behaviour" (2023). This release, exploring themes of past and future with raw intensity, gained critical acclaim and was expanded in 2024’s "Sad Behaviour: Expanded Edition." His diverse discography also includes projects like "Tropicalismo Dark" (with Noporn), "After The World Collapsed" (NEIN Records), "Mind Invasion EP" (Volition), and "Jumping Jacks" (Get Physical).

Known for official remixes of artists such as Xinobi, Night in Athens, BURAK SIS, Jup do Bairro, Dole & Kom, and Ohxala, Madd Rod expertly fuses influences from Electroclash, EBM, Proto-House, and Italo Disco. His relentless, raw sound continues to invigorate underground club culture. His most recent release, "Make You Sweat EP" (2025), cements Madd Rod as a transformative force in electronic music’s evolving landscape.
