About Axel Flóvent

Axel Flóvent is an Icelandic indie-folk singer-songwriter known for his atmospheric sound that beautifully fuses folk, pop, and ambient elements. Often compared to artists like Bon Iver and his fellow Icelander Ásgeir, Flóvent first gained international recognition with his 2015 EP, "Forest Fires." The haunting title track showcased his talent for introspective storytelling paired with ethereal melodies, captivating a global audience with its dreamy, melancholic vibe.

In 2021, Flóvent released his debut full-length album, "You Stay by the Sea," which delves deeper into themes of longing, personal growth, and nature. Characterized by gentle vocals and soothing acoustic arrangements, the album solidified his reputation for creating immersive, emotional soundscapes. The following year, he broadened his artistic range with the collaborative EP "Coexist" (2022), working alongside artists such as Tusks, Hayden Calnin, Plàsi, and Ciaran Lavery. This project highlighted his versatility and willingness to push musical boundaries.

June 2024 saw the release of Flóvent’s sophomore album, "Away From This Dream," recorded in London with the acclaimed production duo MyRiot, known for their work with London Grammar and Aurora. Incorporating vintage Roland Juno-60 synthesizers alongside live percussion, piano, and electric guitar, the album marked a richer, more expansive evolution of his sound. Axel Flóvent remains a compelling figure in contemporary indie-folk, continuously evolving while maintaining the signature emotional depth that defines his music.
