About Hollow Ship

Emerging from Gothenburg, Sweden, Hollow Ship has carved a distinctive niche within the Scandinavian psychedelic rock scene by marrying the spirit of 1960s pioneers like early Pink Floyd with a forward-looking sonic vision. Rather than merely echoing the past, Hollow Ship uses these vintage influences as a springboard to explore expansive soundscapes that challenge traditional song structures and invite listeners into a thought-provoking, almost otherworldly experience.

Their standout track, "We Were Kings," encapsulates this artistic ambition by weaving the myth of Icarus with reflections on human ambition and the transient nature of empires. This anthem highlights the band’s commitment to crafting music that transcends temporal and spatial boundaries, delivering futuristic ideas wrapped in nostalgic textures. Hollow Ship’s innovative approach has positioned them as leaders in contemporary psychedelic rock, resonating deeply with audiences searching for depth and transcendence.

Captured vividly during their performance at the ZIRO festival by photographer Kerstin Ehrnlund, Hollow Ship’s atmospheric presence further cements their reputation as pioneering voices within Sweden’s vibrant underground scene. Balancing reverence for psychedelic traditions with bold experimentation, Hollow Ship continues to push the genre’s limits, forging a sound that remains timeless and ever-evolving.
