About Steph Strings

Melbourne-based singer-songwriter and guitarist Steph Strings has established herself as a compelling voice in contemporary folk music through her innovative fingerstyle guitar and deeply evocative storytelling. Rooted in themes of nature, emotion, and adventure, her sound uniquely blends blues, Celtic traditions, folk, and percussive techniques. While influenced by artists such as John Butler, Kim Churchill, and Ziggy Alberts, Steph Strings has crafted a distinctive musical identity that resonates worldwide.

Her breakthrough came with the 2023 EP *LION*, which propelled her onto the international stage. Following its release, she embarked on sold-out headline tours across Australia, the UK, Europe, and Canada. Steph shared the spotlight by supporting major acts like The Cat Empire, Vance Joy, and Ziggy Alberts. Her captivating presence has graced renowned festivals including Germany’s Rolling Stone Weekender, Australia’s Woodford Folk Festival, Canada’s Edmonton Folk Festival, and France’s Les Escales.

In 2024, Steph Strings released the introspective EP *Cradle Mountain*, inspired by reflective experiences in nature. This work ushered in another global tour, featuring performances at the Winnipeg Folk Festival and Ottawa Bluesfest. Emerging from sharing intimate acoustic videos online, Steph’s rise to international acclaim underscores her raw talent, humility, and unwavering commitment to her craft. Currently, she is writing new material and preparing to join Ziggy Alberts on her first North American supporting tour, further cementing Steph Strings’ place as a dynamic force in modern folk music.
