About The Bug Club

Emerging from the Welsh town of Caldicot, Monmouthshire in 2016, The Bug Club is a vibrant duo consisting of Sam Willmett (guitar and vocals) and Tilly Harris (bass and vocals). Known for their clever storytelling and energetic riffs, they craft songs that spotlight the subtle, often overlooked moments of everyday life. Their distinctive blend of witty lyrics and infectious melodies quickly captured attention, forging a unique space within the indie rock scene.

After signing with Bingo Records in late 2020, The Bug Club made their recorded debut with the single "We Don’t Need Room For Lovin’" (2021). They followed up with two EPs, Launching Moondream One and Pure Particles, alongside standout tracks like "Intelectuals" and "Two Beauties." Their first full-length album, Green Dream in F# (2022), solidified their signature sound and was met with critical acclaim. Early champions such as BBC 6 Music’s Marc Riley and Radio Cymru hosts Adam Walton and Huw Stephens helped elevate the band’s profile, leading to sold-out tours across the UK and Europe.

The duo’s sophomore album, Rare Birds: Hour of Song (2023), expanded their reach further, supported by extensive tours across Europe, the UK, and North America. In 2024, The Bug Club achieved a significant milestone by signing with Sub Pop Records worldwide. Their label debut, On The Intricate Inner Workings Of The System, along with the follow-up Very Human Features, continued to showcase their sharp, engaging songwriting and growing appeal. The Bug Club remains an enduring force in contemporary indie music, steadily building a loyal and diverse fanbase.
