About Dogwood Tales

Dogwood Tales is an emotionally charged alt-country band rooted in the scenic landscapes of Harrisonburg, Virginia, and deeply influenced by the rich cultural tapestry of the Shenandoah Valley. Their music blends heartfelt storytelling with evocative melodies, crafting a sound that resonates with fans of authentic Americana and alt-country alike. Known for their sincere songwriting and strong regional identity, Dogwood Tales channels the essence of their natural surroundings into every track.

In the winter of 2024, the band took a hands-on approach to their craft by converting an old garage into a home studio. This DIY project not only reflects their artistic independence but also provided the perfect space to develop their latest work. Their dedication culminated in the release of the album "Every Star In Rockingham County" (2025), a record that showcases their evolving musical depth and emotional range while paying tribute to their Shenandoah roots.

Ahead of this full-length album, Dogwood Tales released an EP in fall 2024 featuring demos and rare tracks that charted the band’s creative journey. This collection offered fans a glimpse into the raw creativity and growth behind their polished sound. With their authentic connection to place and unwavering commitment to storytelling, Dogwood Tales continues to carve out a distinctive niche within the alt-country genre, drawing listeners who value music that feels both intimate and rooted in real-life landscapes.
