About Craig David

Craig David, the British singer-songwriter from Southampton, first captured international attention in 2000 with his debut album *Born to Do It* and its hit single "Fill Me In." At just 19, he became one of the youngest British male solo artists to top the UK charts, while the album also reached number 11 on the US Billboard 200 and earned platinum certifications in over 18 countries, selling more than three million copies worldwide. Before his breakthrough, David sharpened his skills as a local radio host and club DJ, where he connected with producer Mark Hill of Artful Dodger. Their collaboration produced the UK Top 3 single "Rewind," laying the groundwork for David's solo success.

Known for blending smooth, garage-infused R&B with contemporary urban sounds, Craig David played a pivotal role in bringing UK garage to a global audience. Over two decades, he has released multiple acclaimed albums including *Slicker Than Your Average* (2002), *The Story Goes…* (2005), *Trust Me* (2007), and the Motown-inspired *Signed Sealed Delivered* (2010). After a period of exploration, he returned to the top of the charts with *Following My Intuition* (2016), which debuted at number one in the UK. His seventh album, *The Time Is Now* (2018), featured collaborations with Bastille, Blonde, and Kaytranada, reaching number two on UK charts. Most recently, 2022’s *22* showcased his versatility with features from MNEK, Wretch 32, and Galantis, including the Top 40 single "Who You Are."

With over 20 UK Top 40 singles, Craig David continues to evolve while maintaining his signature smooth vocals and crossover appeal. His contributions have earned him several MOBO and Ivor Novello Awards, as well as an honorary doctorate from Southampton Solent University, underscoring his lasting influence on the UK music landscape.
