About Lena Neudauer

Lena Neudauer, born in Munich in 1984, is a celebrated German violinist known for her prodigious talent and commitment to both classical and contemporary repertoire. Beginning violin studies at the tender age of three, she made her orchestral debut by ten and soon entered the Mozarteum Salzburg’s prestigious junior program. At twelve, she captivated audiences in Germany and Japan with performances of Vivaldi’s "Four Seasons," alongside members of the Munich Philharmonic, marking the start of a remarkable international career.

Neudauer's early promise was recognized with top honors such as first prize at the International Violin Competition Leopold Mozart (1999) and the Pro Europa European Culture Prize (2000). Under the tutelage of distinguished mentors including Thomas Zehetmair and Christoph Poppen, and refined through masterclasses with luminaries like Midori Goto and Seiji Ozawa, she developed a nuanced technique that bridges classical tradition and contemporary innovation.

Throughout her career, Lena Neudauer has collaborated with renowned orchestras such as the Nuremberg Symphony, MDR Symphony, and the Symphony Orchestra of India. Her passion for modern music shines in performances with Pierre Boulez’s Ensemble Intercontemporain and Austria's Österreichisches Ensemble für Neue Musik. Her acclaimed discography features complete cycles of Schumann and Mozart violin works on the Hänssler label, alongside a celebrated 2018 recording of Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor with the Südwestdeutsche Kammerorchester Pforzheim on CPO.

An esteemed educator since 2010, Neudauer has influenced the next generation of musicians as a professor at the Hochschule für Musik Saar and currently at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. Her enduring artistry and dedication continue to enrich the global classical music landscape.
