About Isambard Khroustaliov

Isambard Khroustaliov is the electronic music alias of Sam Britton, a multifaceted composer known for his innovative contributions to the avant-garde and experimental electronic scene. Britton’s artistry extends across several boundary-pushing groups such as Icarus, Fiium Shaarrk, and Leverton Fox, each reflecting different dimensions of his eclectic compositional style. Through Isambard Khroustaliov, Britton delves into intricate soundscapes that fuse meticulous electronic production with improvisational and contemporary techniques, creating music that resonates with listeners seeking fresh and dynamic auditory experiences.

A significant aspect of Britton’s work involves his active participation in the artist collective Not Applicable, where he collaborates with a distinguished roster of musicians including Tom Arthurs, Rudi Fischerlehner, Alex Bonney, Tolga Tüzün, Lothar Ohlmeier, Maurizio Ravalico, and Frank Paul Schubert. This collaborative environment allows him to explore diverse sonic territories, enriching his sound with innovative textures and experimental influences that blur the lines between structured composition and spontaneous performance.
