About James Brady

James Brady, born in London in 1989 to Irish immigrant parents, is a dynamic Glasgow-based composer, performer, and music educator celebrated for his versatility across multiple musical genres. His work bridges the worlds of classical concert halls, intimate jazz clubs, and vibrant festival stages with a distinctive focus on melody and creative expression. Brady’s compositions have earned critical acclaim for their imaginative beauty and emotional depth. Notably, Bradley Creswick, former concertmaster of the Royal Opera House and Philharmonia, praised his *Duo Dances* for its inventiveness and captivating charm.

James Brady’s musical ventures span a wide range of styles, from his jazz-focused James Brady Jazz Orchestra—hailed by London Jazz News as "the perfect blend of hip and nostalgia"—to the evocative Wilderness Orchestra, described by The Guardian as "a properly stirring experience." In 2018, he received the Eddie Harvey Award, a testament to his contribution to contemporary music. Further cementing his reputation, Brady was appointed PRS Foundation Composer-in-Residence at Sage Gateshead.

In 2020, Brady released his debut solo EP, *Vesperados*, through Turquoise Coconut Records, following notable Spotify playlist success for his violin duos earlier that year. Recent projects highlight his innovative spirit, including a premiere with the ECHO choir, an audiovisual collaboration with East London Community Band, and a creative partnership with house producer RoboRob. These endeavors showcase James Brady’s ongoing evolution and commitment to pushing musical boundaries, making him a compelling figure in today’s contemporary music scene.
