About Hania Rani

Hania Rani is a renowned Polish pianist, composer, and vocalist celebrated for her evocative fusion of classical and contemporary music. A graduate of the prestigious Chopin University of Music, she quickly gained international recognition with her debut album, "Esja" (2019), released on Gondwana Records. This intimate solo piano collection earned her four Fryderyk Awards, including Best Debut Album and Best Alternative Album, establishing her as a fresh and compelling voice in the modern music landscape.

Building on this success, Rani expanded her artistic palette with her sophomore album, "Home" (2020). Here, she integrated subtle electronics and vocals alongside contributions from bassist Ziemowit Klimek and drummer Wojtek Warmijak. The album’s cinematic atmosphere earned her the Fryderyk Award for Best Composer and a spot on Rough Trade’s Albums of the Year list, further cementing her critical acclaim.

Her third album, "Ghosts" (2023), continues to push creative boundaries, featuring collaborations with notable artists such as Patrick Watson, Ólafur Arnalds, and Duncan Bellamy. Enhanced by rich string arrangements from Viktor Orri Árnason and mixed by Greg Freeman, the album delves into profound themes of life, death, and mythology, offering an immersive, atmospheric experience. Recognized with the Paszport Polityki award and the European Film Award for Best Composer, Hania Rani remains a defining figure in contemporary classical and indie music, known for her intricate piano craftsmanship and cinematic soundscapes.
