About Radices

Radices is a dynamic musical collective rooted deeply in the rich folk traditions of Aragon, Spain. Formed with a strong emphasis on community and cultural heritage, the group features a predominantly female lineup, deliberately challenging the persistent gender gap in live music programming. Drawing from their members’ vast experience performing at village festivals, charangas, folklore groups, and small orchestras, Radices crafts a distinctive sound they describe as "folk d’entrevera" — a spirited fusion that reinvigorates traditional regional music with contemporary energy.

Central to Radices’ mission is the preservation and promotion of the Aragonese language, a historically marginalized tongue that they proudly incorporate into many of their songs. This dedication not only amplifies the region’s unique cultural identity but also brings visibility to linguistic traditions often overlooked in today’s music scene.
