About Or:la

Derry-born producer and DJ Or:la, born Orlagh Dooley, has established herself as a dynamic force within contemporary electronic music through her genre-defying productions and vibrant DJ sets. She first garnered widespread attention with her 2017 debut EP "UK Lonely" on Hotflush Recordings, a four-track release that masterfully blends UK bass, breakbeat, and techno elements. Building on this momentum, Or:la co-founded the label Deep Sea Frequency in the same year, further asserting her curatorial ambition. Her dedication to amplifying fresh talent led to the creation of Céad, a platform focused on uplifting emerging and lesser-known artists.

Or:la’s versatility and refusal to be confined by traditional genre boundaries have earned her a loyal following across the electronic music scene. Highlights include a coveted residency at Manchester’s Warehouse Project, a dedicated show on BBC Radio One, and being named DJ Mag’s "Best DJ." She has performed at major festivals and clubs worldwide, consistently captivating audiences with her energetic and innovative approach.

In 2021, Or:la launched La Potion, a London-based club night that champions queer creatives and regularly features prominent artists such as TAAHLIAH, Roi Perez, and Mary Lake. Through her multifaceted role as producer, DJ, label founder, and event curator, Or:la continues to shape and invigorate the global electronic music landscape.
