About Alborosie

Alborosie, an Italian-born artist who embraced Rastafari culture, has become a defining figure in contemporary reggae music. After relocating to Jamaica, he honed his skills as a sound engineer and producer, working with notable artists like Gentleman and Ky-Mani Marley. This experience laid the groundwork for his successful solo career, which began with the release of his debut album, "Soul Pirate" (2008). Featuring standout tracks such as "Herbalist," "Kingston Town," and "Still Blazing," the album marked his emergence on the global reggae scene.

He followed up with "Escape from Babylon" (2009), further cementing his reputation through extensive international performances, including appearances at major festivals like the Uppsala Reggae Festival and Chiemsee Reggae Summer. In 2011, Alborosie was recognized as Best Reggae Act at the MOBO Awards, highlighting his influence beyond Jamaica.

Alborosie’s collaborative project, "Specialist Presents: Alborosie and Friends" (2014), reached number seven on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart, while "Unbreakable: Alborosie Meets The Wailers United" (2019) climbed even higher, peaking at number six. Known for his dedication to authentic reggae and dub styles, he released "Dub Pirate" in April 2024, marking his seventh dub album and showcasing his continuous evolution as a versatile artist.

Combining his European roots with a deep connection to Jamaican musical traditions, Alborosie embodies a unique cultural blend that has firmly established him as a global ambassador of reggae music.
