About SAHRA

Berlin-born and London-based vocalist and songwriter SAHRA is a dynamic artist whose journey uniquely blends classical rigor with contemporary jazz innovation. Initially trained as a classical violinist, she discovered her passion for singing in her teenage years, a shift that led her to earn a scholarship in Jazz Performance at the prestigious Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.

In 2019, SAHRA’s exceptional talent was recognized with the Musicians’ Company Young Jazz Musician Award, marking her emergence as a prominent figure in the UK jazz scene. Her debut EP attracted widespread acclaim, earning support from influential platforms including Bandcamp Daily, Clash, Jazzwise, and prominent radio stations such as BBC Radio 1, BBC 1Xtra, Jazz FM, Worldwide FM, and Rinse FM.

Known for her versatile and compelling vocal style, SAHRA has collaborated with renowned artists like Orphy Robinson, Dele Sosimi, Cleveland Watkiss MBE, Ashley Henry, and Secret Sundaze. She has performed at iconic venues and festivals including Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, Queen Elizabeth Hall, the London Jazz Festival, Havana Jazz Festival, WOMAD, Dimensions Festival, and We Out Here Festival.

Her solo work has been featured at platforms such as The Southbank Centre’s FutureTense, Jazz Re:Fest Online (2020), The Jazz Cafe, and the Future Bubblers Showcase (2021). Recognized not only for her artistic excellence but also her potential, SAHRA is a recipient of the PRS Women Make Music Fund, underscoring her ongoing contribution to contemporary music’s vibrant landscape.
