About Amyl and The Sniffers

Amyl and The Sniffers emerged from Melbourne’s vibrant pub-rock scene in 2016, quickly gaining recognition for their raw, energetic sound infused with infectious playfulness. The Australian quartet—fronted by the magnetic Amy Taylor, alongside guitarist Declan Mehrtens, bassist Gus Romer, and drummer Bryce Wilson—burst onto the international stage with their self-titled debut album (2019). This release showcased their fierce punk roots, earning critical acclaim and building a devoted fanbase.

Their follow-up album, *Comfort To Me* (2021), intensified their reputation with a more expansive and intense sound, further cementing their place in modern rock. The band’s evolution continued with *Cartoon Darkness*, recorded at Los Angeles’ legendary 606 Studios with famed producer Nick Launay, known for his work on iconic albums such as Nirvana’s *Nevermind* and Fleetwood Mac’s *Rumours*. This third album revealed a bolder, more experimental side, blending their high-octane punk with glam rock swagger on tracks like "U Should Not Be Doing That" and atmospheric ballads such as "Big Dreams." Amy Taylor describes *Cartoon Darkness* as a fearless dive into an uncertain, “cartoonish” future, mixing dark themes with ironic humor and fresh creativity.

With their distinctive fusion of vintage aggression and playful innovation, Amyl and The Sniffers continue to be a defining force in Australian rock music, celebrated worldwide for their relentless energy and originality.
