About Rafael Fingerlos

Austrian baritone Rafael Fingerlos, born in Salzburg, has emerged as a distinctive voice in contemporary opera and concert music. His career gained momentum after participating in the prestigious Young Singers Project at the Salzburg Festival in 2015, a breakthrough that led to his acclaimed role in the premiere of Thomas Adès' *The Exterminating Angel* (2016). Since then, Fingerlos has solidified his reputation on the world’s leading stages, including the Vienna State Opera, La Scala in Milan, Dresden’s Semperoper, Madrid’s Teatro Real, and Buenos Aires’ Teatro Colón.

Renowned for his versatility, Fingerlos' repertoire spans iconic baritone roles such as Papageno, Figaro in *Il Barbiere di Siviglia*, Dr. Falke, Belcore, and Harlequin—performances noted for their blend of technical precision and emotional depth. His appearances at eminent festivals like Lucerne, Aix-en-Provence, Salzburg’s Mozartwoche, and the Schubertiade demonstrate his appeal beyond the opera house, reaching into the recital and concert domains. Fingerlos has collaborated with leading conductors such as Christian Thielemann, Franz Welser-Möst, Evelino Pidò, and Simone Young, and visionary directors including Calixto Bieito and Irina Brook.
