About Liga Joe

Liga Joe is a cornerstone of Goiás’ vibrant pop-rock scene, known for captivating packed venues and nurturing a loyal local following. Officially adopting the name Liga Joe in 2006, the band marked this pivotal moment with their debut album, *Contra o Tempo* (2006). This self-produced record, featuring eleven original tracks, showcased their distinct sound, blending contemporary pop-rock with strong influences from 1980s rock. Though the members had played together for years prior, the release of *Contra o Tempo* firmly established their artistic identity within Goiás and beyond.

In 2007, Liga Joe gained national attention when producer Rick Bonadio featured one of their songs on *Comunidade Independente*, a compilation highlighting independent Brazilian bands. This exposure helped broaden their reach and solidify their reputation in Brazil’s music landscape.

The band’s homage to their ’80s rock roots shines throughout an ongoing series of visually engaging DVDs. Starting with *Tributo ao Rock* (2009), followed by *Tributo ao Rock 2* (2013), they expanded the series with *Flashbacks* Volumes 1 and 2 (2023), and continued with Volume 3 set for release in 2025. All these projects are accessible via their official YouTube channel, offering fans a rich audiovisual experience.

Alongside these retrospectives, Liga Joe consistently releases original singles, maintaining their dynamic connection with fans across Goiás. Their enduring presence underscores their significance as one of Brazil’s most respected pop-rock acts, balancing nostalgic influences with fresh, original music.
