About TV Priest

TV Priest is a London-based post-punk quartet known for their raw, urgent sound and incisive social commentary. Fronted by Charlie Drinkwater’s distinctive spoken-word vocals, the band also includes Nic Bueth on bass, Alex Sprogis on guitar, and Ed Kelland on drums. Emerging from the UK’s vibrant underground music scene, TV Priest channels the spirit of post-punk pioneers like Wire and The Fall, blending angular guitars and driving rhythms with lyrical explorations of political unrest and existential uncertainty.

The band burst into wider recognition with their debut album, "Uppers" (2021), released through Sub Pop Records. The record captured critical acclaim for its intense energy and sharply observant reflections on modern life, showcasing TV Priest’s ability to balance confrontational sounds with moments of unexpected melody. Following this striking introduction, they continued to evolve their style, solidifying their reputation as a compelling voice in contemporary British indie music.

With compelling live performances and a fearless approach to songwriting, TV Priest has established themselves as a vital presence for a new generation navigating cultural and political turbulence. Their blend of gritty instrumentation and thought-provoking themes has earned them an expanding fanbase and critical praise, making TV Priest an essential name in the ongoing evolution of post-punk music.
