About KALIKA

KALIKA is a trailblazing French singer, songwriter, composer, and director who has firmly established herself in the alternative pop landscape with a deeply personal and evocative sound. Drawing on her tumultuous childhood and journey into adulthood, she channels themes of destruction, renewal, and empowerment in her music. Her stage name pays homage to Sara La Kali, the patron saint of the Romani people among whom she was raised, as well as the Hindu goddess Kali, symbolizing transformation through chaos.

Her debut album, *Adieu les monstres* (2023), showcases a captivating fusion of polished pop production with raw, emotionally charged lyrics. The record features standout collaborations, including the anthemic "Les Glaçons" with iconic French pop artist Yelle, and the commanding track "Personne" alongside rapper Youv Dee. These partnerships highlight KALIKA’s talent for weaving compelling storytelling with infectious melodies, reflecting both personal struggle and collective strength.

Before her album, KALIKA released the EP *J’ai pleuré*, which reveals a darker, more electronic edge reminiscent of early 2010s acts like Crystal Castles and Snowstrippers. Her sound sits at the intersection of French chanson and indie electronica, marked by immersive, repetitive soundscapes paired with brutally honest French lyrics.
