About Halestorm

Halestorm, a hard rock band hailing from Pennsylvania, formed in 1997 when siblings Lzzy and Arejay Hale combined their musical talents near York. Initially starting as a duo—with Lzzy on vocals and guitar, and Arejay on drums—the band solidified its lineup by adding Joe Hottinger on guitar and Josh Smith on bass. Known for their signature blend of aggressive riffs and catchy melodies, Halestorm quickly became a standout act in the post-grunge and metal scenes.

Their self-titled debut album (2009) introduced them to a broad audience, but it was their sophomore effort, "The Strange Case Of..." (2012), that catapulted them to mainstream success. Featuring the Grammy-winning single "Love Bites (So Do I)," Halestorm earned the award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance in 2013. The band’s relentless touring schedule—often exceeding 250 live shows annually—cemented their reputation as electrifying performers who have shared stages with many of rock’s major names.

Halestorm’s evolving sound incorporates a wide range of influences, from crushing metal anthems to piano-driven ballads, and even touches of dance and pop-country. Albums like "Into the Wild Life" (2015), "Vicious" (2018)—which earned a Grammy nomination for the track "Uncomfortable"—and "Back from the Dead" (2022) showcase their versatility. Produced by industry heavyweight Nick Raskulinecz, "Back from the Dead" delivered Halestorm’s sixth number-one single on the Active Rock charts, affirming their status as one of the defining hard rock bands of their generation. Additionally, their "Reanimate" EP series highlights their ability to honor rock legends like Guns N’ Roses and Metallica through creative covers, adding depth to their enduring legacy.
