About Bravo

Bravo is a seminal Russian rock and roll band that originated in Moscow in 1983, founded by guitarist Evgeny Khavtan. Emerging during a pivotal moment in Soviet music history, Bravo played a crucial role in reviving the spirit of 1950s Western rock and roll behind the Iron Curtain. Their sound is characterized by a nostalgic yet dynamic blend of vintage melodies, rhythms, and classic rock and roll aesthetics infused with modern energy. By reinterpreting the genre’s foundational elements through a Soviet cultural lens, Bravo offered audiences an authentic and refreshing alternative to the mainstream Soviet music scene of the 1980s.

Throughout their enduring career, Bravo has maintained a loyal following, continuously bridging retro influences with contemporary flair. Their dedication to rock and roll’s roots helped them become one of the most influential and respected acts in Russian music. Their impact extended beyond Russia, earning them international recognition, including an MTV Europe Music Award, which cemented their status as pioneers within the post-Soviet rock landscape.

Bravo’s legacy is not only defined by chart-topping hits but also by their role in shaping the creative and cultural shifts of late Soviet-era music. Their timeless sound stands as a testament to the enduring appeal of classic rock and roll, making them a vital chapter in the history of Russian rock music.
