About Los Delinqüentes

Los Delinqüentes, an influential musical group from Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz, formed in 1998, crafted a unique sound that captured the vibrant spirit of Andalusia. Founded by Miguel Ángel Benítez "Er Migue" and Marcos del Ojo, known as El Canijo de Jerez, the band later welcomed Diego Pozo "Er Ratón," solidifying their creative lineup. Their music seamlessly blended traditional Andalusian rhythms with playful, burlesque pop, enriched by funk, rock, and blues influences. A defining feature was their authentic use of the Andalusian dialect, adding local flair that resonated strongly with audiences across Spain.

Los Delinqüentes rose to prominence through their energetic performances and infectious tunes that celebrated regional culture with modern twists. Despite their success, the band parted ways in 2012 to pursue solo projects. Tragically, Er Migue passed away before fully launching his solo album "Cómo Apretar los Dientes / Matajare 9 / Otras +" (posthumously released). Meanwhile, El Canijo de Jerez forged a successful solo career with albums like "El Nuevo Despertar de la Farándula Cósmica" (2013), "La Lengua Chivata" (2016), and collaborative work on "Estricnina" with Juanito Makandé. Er Ratón revived his earlier band Palocortao and collaborated with artists such as Muchachito Bombo Infierno and Kiko Veneno before launching the project "Astola & Ratón: El Hombre Caracol" in 2018. Bassist Dani Quiñones also continued the Andalusian music legacy by forming La Tarambana in 2017.

Los Delinqüentes remain celebrated for their distinct fusion of Andalusian tradition with contemporary genres, leaving an enduring influence on Spain’s musical landscape.
