About Isaiah Rashad

Isaiah Rashad, a gifted rapper and songwriter from Chattanooga, Tennessee, has steadily emerged as one of hip-hop’s most introspective and critically acclaimed voices since his debut in 2012. Now based in Los Angeles, Rashad first captured widespread attention with his 2014 mixtape *Cilvia Demo*. Praised for its raw lyricism and Southern hip-hop influences, the project earned an 8.2 rating from Pitchfork and secured him a coveted spot on XXL’s Freshman Class list.

Building on this early success, Rashad released his debut full-length album, *The Sun’s Tirade* (2016), which broke into the Top 20 on the Billboard 200 and garnered year-end accolades from outlets such as UPROXX, L.A. Weekly, and Stereogum. Known for blending deeply personal storytelling with innovative production, he rapidly developed a loyal fanbase, amassing nearly 500 million streams and selling out shows across the country.

After a five-year hiatus marked by personal challenges, Isaiah Rashad returned with his sophomore album *The House Is Burning* (2021), released through Top Dawg Entertainment. This record showcased his artistic growth with collaborations including the single "Lay Wit Ya" featuring Duke Deuce and production contributions from Kenny Beats. An openly bisexual artist, Rashad continues to push cultural and musical boundaries, cementing his place as a distinctive and influential figure in contemporary rap.
