About Bleachers

Bleachers is an American indie pop project founded in 2013 by Jack Antonoff, a New Jersey native renowned for his multifaceted role as the group's lead vocalist, songwriter, and producer. Emerging initially as a solo endeavor, Bleachers expanded into a full band based in New York City, crafting a dynamic sound that fuses vibrant synth-pop with the nostalgic flair of 1980s rock and pop. This blend results in anthemic, stadium-ready tunes layered with introspective and emotionally resonant lyrics that explore themes such as adolescence, nostalgia, loss, and self-discovery.

The project debuted with the critically acclaimed album *Strange Desire* (2014), which featured the breakthrough hit "I Wanna Get Better." This single showcased Antonoff’s talent for combining catchy melodies with heartfelt storytelling, quickly establishing Bleachers as a distinct voice in contemporary pop music. Subsequent albums like *Gone Now* (2017) and *Take the Sadness Out of Saturday Night* (2021) continued to deepen Bleachers’ exploration of vulnerability and resilience, earning widespread praise for their emotional depth and infectious energy.

Known for electrifying live performances and a sound that balances upbeat synth hooks with sincere lyricism, Bleachers has solidified its place in the indie music scene. Jack Antonoff’s work with major artists, coupled with his evolving band, ensures that Bleachers remains influential as a compelling force in modern pop culture.
