About Julien Baker

Julien Baker is a Tennessee-born singer-songwriter and guitarist who has become a defining voice in contemporary indie and alternative music. Known for her sparse, poignant lyrics and fearless vulnerability, Baker channels deeply personal experiences—including addiction, mental health, faith, and identity—into raw, emotive storytelling that resonates profoundly with listeners. Her music creates a sense of companionship during hardship, marked by a striking blend of introspection and radical empathy.

Baker rose to prominence with critically acclaimed solo albums that showcase her powerful narrative style and emotional honesty. Alongside her individual career, she is a key member of the indie supergroup boygenius, where her versatile talents complement those of her peers. In addition, Julien Baker embarked on a notable collaboration with TORRES on the 2017 album "Send A Prayer My Way," sparked by a chance encounter in Chicago. This partnership explores outlaw country themes, merging defiant, working-class stories with humor and resilience while confronting addiction and regret.

A Grammy-winning artist, Julien Baker has earned widespread recognition for her unflinching exploration of difficult subjects and her ability to offer listeners hope through music. Her work continues to inspire audiences worldwide, reminding us that through shared struggles and honest expression, no one is ever truly alone.
