About Robyn

Robyn, born Robyn Carlsson in Stockholm in 1979, is a pioneering Swedish pop artist renowned for her inventive sound and steadfast independence. Raised in a creative environment while traveling with her parents’ theater troupe across Europe, she developed an early passion for music, inspired notably by American soul. Robyn began crafting songs at just 11 and recorded a TV theme by age 12. Her breakthrough came in 1994 after being discovered by pop star Meja, leading to a record deal with Ricochet Records.

Her debut album, "Robyn Is Here" (1995), produced by hitsmiths Max Martin and Denniz Pop, yielded international chart-toppers like "Do You Know (What It Takes)" and "Show Me Love," launching her teen pop stardom. However, creative conflicts surrounding her sophomore album "My Truth" (1999) prompted Robyn to reclaim her artistic freedom. In 2005, she founded her own label, Konichiwa Records, ushering in a creative rebirth with the critically acclaimed self-titled album "Robyn," which earned multiple Swedish Grammis and Grammy nominations.

Robyn solidified her status as a synth-pop trailblazer with the 2010 "Body Talk" trilogy, producing enduring anthems such as "Dancing on My Own" and "Call Your Girlfriend." These tracks influenced a new wave of pop artists including Lorde and Charli XCX. Her 2018 album "Honey" deepened her artistic exploration, blending house and disco while addressing themes of loss and resilience. Throughout her career, Robyn has remained a forward-thinking songwriter and collaborator, celebrated as one of pop music’s most authentic and innovative voices.
