About BASHKKA

BASHKKA, whose name is inspired by the Turkish word meaning "different," stands out as a dynamic and revolutionary force in electronic music. After spending a formative decade in New York City, she absorbed profound influences from the Black and Brown trans women who shaped the city’s vibrant Ballroom culture. This experience deeply informs her work, infusing every DJ set with authentic energy and unapologetic boldness.

Known for her electrifying residencies, BASHKKA has firmly established herself at Munich’s Blitz Club and Berlin’s renowned Panorama Bar at Berghain. Her performances are celebrated for their high-energy, sensually sharp vibe—a sound she boldly describes with the term "CUNT." Beyond her commanding presence on the decks, BASHKKA is a passionate advocate for decolonizing electronic music. She actively champions visibility and empowerment for SWANA (South West Asia and North Africa) and queer communities, blending activism seamlessly with her art to challenge industry norms and revive the genre’s countercultural roots.

In 2023, BASHKKA released her debut EP, showcasing not only her fearless attitude but also formidable production skills. This marked a significant moment, solidifying her reputation as an essential and fresh voice reshaping contemporary club culture. With her unique blend of cultural consciousness and sonic innovation, BASHKKA continues to push boundaries and inspire a new generation of electronic music enthusiasts.
